Notes:
Volume I, engraving nº5. Description by the author: an english guard returning from one of the gates of Vitoria, and crossing the old square of the city. This outline in no wise exaggerates the wretched state to which the British Legion has been reduced. The author was one of the 10000 members of the Legion Auxiliar Británica.
